GRANULAR "A" GRAVEL
Granular "A" gravel is a crushed sand and rock mixture usually one inch in diameter or smaller. The "A" gravel mixture is well known for its drainage and frost reduction qualities preventing the surface from turning to mud in the springtime.
Granular "A" gravel is typically used as a surface base for roadways and parking lots. It is also a great base for interlocking stone, concrete, retaining walls and asphalt.
GRANULAR "B" GRAVEL
Granular "B" Gravel consists of a sand and rock mixture with the rock being slightly larger than the Granular "A" Gravel, with an average size of six inches and smaller.
The "B" Gravel is generally used as a sub-base material for constructing roadways, parking areas and driveways and is surfaced with Granular "A" gravel or Limestone.
PIT GRAVEL | BANK STONE
Pit Gravel (also known as Pit Run Gravel or Bank Stone) is a natural soil and gravel mixture exactly as it is dug up. The rocks are typically about six inches in size, but can be up to twelve inches.
This gravel mixture is preferred as a sub-base for roads, driveways, walkways and swimming pools, as well as backfill for building foundations and utility pipes. It packs hard to form a dense and solid sub-surface and drains well.
Pit Gravel is not recommended as a surface aggregate as it can be dusty during dry weather and quite muddy in wet weather.

KNOWN FOR IT'S STRENGTH AND DURABILITY - USED FOR MORTAR, CONCRETE AND CEMENT
Pit Sand is best described as granular particles that are typically 3/8" and smaller in size. It is a naturally occurring substance from the physical and chemical breakdown of rocks.
Pit Sand is typically a coarse texture with sharp edges. Sharp refers to the angular shape of the grains; these grains are interlocking, providing strength and allowing water to filter through.
It is commonly used for mortar or concrete work, or as a surface base for paving.
Beach Sand is a fine quality of sand containing minerals, usually white or grey in color with rounded grains. Beach sand generally retains moisture making it a great element for mixing concrete as it provides strength and durablility.
